An eventful and successful semester has been concluded at the renewed HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center. The video made on the occasion of Global Exhibitions Day 2022, showcasing the events of the last few months, can be viewed HERE.
The 2022 exhibition season began in late January with the 40th AGROmashEXPO exhibition. Although – due to the pandemic – the visitor numbers of this year’s event lagged behind the usual turnout, nearly 200 satisfied exhibitors (from 12 countries) and 15,000 visitors confirmed that it was time to return to the exhibition space from virtual reality. Decades-long traditions were discontinued in 2021 when Hungexpo could only host the first exhibition of the year virtually, which is why this year’s event was so important. Visitors were treated to a high-quality professional programme as well as a range of novelties along with the presentation of the product development awards.

In early March, the Budapest Boat Show, the Caravan Salon and the Travel exhibition were hosted simultaneously. Although it was clear that the coronavirus pandemic heavily impacted the tourism industry, domestic tourism and boat purchasing interest increased. The central themes of this year’s exhibition were restarting tourism and safety. The domestic guest of honour was the Veszprém-Balaton region, while the foreign guest of honour was Egypt. Lake Tisza was the Budapest Boat Show’s guest of honour. The four days were filled with plenty of professional as well as the general audience attractions.
