The Hungarian-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (HNCC), together with the Embassy of Hungary in Oslo, organized a business trip to Budapest for Norwegian investors and businessmen between 27 September and 1 October, 2021. The five-day program included a Business Forum, successful B2B meetings, participants visited the “One with Nature” World Hunting and Nature Exhibition, a grey cattle farm in Egerszólát, and tourist attractions in the beautiful capital of Hungary. Furthermore, daytrips to Szentendre and Eger towns in the countryside were also part of the program.
The aim of the trip was to acquaint Norwegian businessmen with investment opportunities in Hungary and to further deepen their relations with Hungary. In addition to the accompanying members, the Norwegian delegation consisted of 8 people, some of them are HNCC members. From the team HNCC, Adam Laska Chairman, Klára Jankovics HNCC representative in Hungary and Katalin Lasetzky project manager participated.
As a very important part of the trip, on 28th September, the Budapest Business Forum II. was organised at the Oppenheim Law Office (member of the HNCC), where representatives of several governmental bodies held presentations about Hungarian economic conditions and the investment environment. The event was opened online by Ambassador of Hungary to Norway Eszter Sándorfi, emphasizing the excellent opportunity to develop economic relations between Norway and Hungary and discover new ones. The Norwegian Ambassador to Budapest, Trine Skymoen greeted the gathered distinguished guests.
During the Forum, a representative of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) presented the Hungarian investment environment, an employee of the law firm Oppenheim presented the Hungarian legal environment 101, the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) gave a short presentation on its own operations. There were also brief presentations by the Hungarian Tourism Agency (VisitHungary), the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and in addition to Róbert Varga, an employee of Erste selling real estate, Frank Lepema, head of Norsk Hydro in Hungary talked about best practices of Norwegian company investing in Hungary.
Overall, the business trip in Budapest was a great success according to the feedback of the participants. Both businesswise due to fruitful B2B discussions, and they had a great time exploring stunning Hungarian attractions in the capital and the countryside. Not least, the participants were enjoying gastro experience in high quality Hungarian restaurants every day during the trip.
HNCC is looking forward to a similar business trip in the near future.
